This policy explains what Pong ("Pong", "we", "us") collects, why, how we use it, and the choices you have. We've written it to be plain and honest — including about how Pong is funded.
Pong sends your question to several frontier AI models and, on the big calls, rallies them and merges the result. Running multiple top-tier models per question is genuinely expensive. We cover that cost two ways, and we want you to know both up front:
1) Subscriptions & token buckets — the primary way we pay for compute.
2) Aggregated, anonymized data — two kinds, both stripped of anything that could identify you, and both of which we may license to third parties:
These aggregate datasets are not linkable back to you. We never sell your name, email, account, your prompts, or your saved work.
This subsidy is what lets us keep a real free tier and price paid plans the way we do. If you're on a paid plan, your subscription is already doing the heavy lifting either way.
| Data | Why |
|---|---|
| Your questions & the answers Pong returns | To answer you, power follow-ups, and run the answer bank so repeats are instant & free |
| Memory (a running summary + short fact list) | To personalize and carry context across models. You can view and clear it anytime |
| Approximate location — derived from your IP address (city-level) and/or device time zone | To localize "near me" answers (so we answer for your city instead of asking) and for aggregate regional demand trends. We use your IP transiently to estimate an approximate city; we don't store the raw IP, use it as an identifier, or collect precise/GPS location |
| Timestamps & usage metrics (counts, cost, cache hits) | To operate the service, bill fairly, and improve routing |
| Labs model comparisons — when you duel models & pick a winner, the winning model + the prompt's topic category only (never the prompt text) | To improve Pong and power aggregate model-performance rankings we may publish or license. On by default; opt out anytime in account settings. Never tied to your identity |
| Account info (email, plan) — paid users only | To run your subscription. Handled by our payment processor; we don't store card numbers |
| Local storage (a random id, your plan, preferences) | To keep you signed in and remember settings on your device |
Before anything enters an aggregate dataset, identifiers are removed: account ids are replaced with a one-way salted hash, region is coarse (time zone only), and we report trends and counts, not individual records. The output is designed to be unlinkable back to you — again, think Google-Trends-style aggregates.
To answer you, Pong sends your question (and any files you attach) to the AI model(s) chosen to answer it — which may include Anthropic, OpenAI, Google, xAI, and DeepSeek (via our model gateway). Those providers process the request under their own terms. Don't paste secrets, credentials, or sensitive personal data you wouldn't want a model provider to process.
Pong is an AI system. When you ask Pong a question, your prompt is routed to one or more third-party frontier AI models (which may include Anthropic, OpenAI, Google, xAI, and DeepSeek), and the answer you receive is generated by those AI models — sometimes rallied and merged. You are interacting with AI, not a human.
Consistent with the Texas Responsible AI Governance Act (TRAIGA), Pong does not develop or deploy AI for any prohibited purpose, including:
AI output can be wrong. AI-generated answers may be inaccurate, incomplete, or out of date, and they are not professional advice — not legal, medical, or financial advice. Verify anything important with a qualified professional or an authoritative source before relying on it.
Pong uses local browser storage (not advertising cookies) to keep a device id, your plan, and preferences. Clearing your browser storage signs you out and forgets local settings.
If you are a Texas resident, the Texas Data Privacy and Security Act (TDPSA) gives you specific rights over your personal data. Subject to verification and the law's exceptions, you may:
To exercise any of these rights, email privacy@pong.com. We will respond without undue delay and within 45 days of an authenticated request; when reasonably necessary we may extend once by an additional 45 days and will tell you why within the first 45 days. If we decline to act, we will explain why and how to appeal. You may submit an appeal to the same address; we will respond in writing within 60 days, and if we deny the appeal we will provide a way to contact the Texas Attorney General to file a complaint.
You may use an authorized agent to submit an opt-out request on your behalf (including through a browser setting, extension, or device-based mechanism); we will honor it where we can verify the agent's authority. We also honor universal opt-out preference signals (recognized browser/device opt-out mechanisms) as valid opt-out requests for targeted advertising and sale, where we can reasonably determine you are a Texas resident.
Where Pong already exceeds the law. Several TDPSA opt-outs have nothing to act on at Pong, because we don't do the underlying things in the first place:
Because Pong does not sell sensitive or biometric personal data, the TDPSA's mandated “NOTICE: We may sell your sensitive personal data” and “NOTICE: We may sell your biometric personal data” disclosures are not required and do not apply to Pong.
We keep account and usage data while your account is active and as needed to run the service and meet legal obligations. Aggregated, anonymized datasets — being non-personal — may be retained and used indefinitely. Banked answers are stored to serve repeats and may be cleared over time.
Pong is intended for adults: you must be 18 or older (or the age of majority where you live) to use it. We don't direct Pong at, or knowingly collect data from, anyone under 18 — and we never sell or license data of minors. If you believe a minor has used Pong, contact us and we'll remove the data.
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data. No system is perfectly secure, so we can't guarantee absolute security.
We'll announce material changes in-product. Questions or requests: privacy@pong.com. See also our Terms of Service.
